Fire Extinguisher Information and Training
The Perry Joint is pleased to offer fire extinguisher training to citizens, groups, organizations and company employees. Our fire extinguisher training consists of a 20 minute video and classroom discussion followed by hands-on-training involving live fires using the BullEx Digital Training Simulator. Total class time is dependent on the number of students and averages 1-1/2 hours.
Cost: Perry Joint Fire District will charge a $21.00 fee to cover the cost of the propane used by the BullEx Digital Training Simulator for all "non-community" residents and organizations. Classes are free of charge to the Perry Community and businesses. The fire department will provide all training materials including fire exstinguishers and training props for the class. Each class member will receive a certificate of participation from the class instructor.
Location: The Perry Joint Fire District prefers to conduct this training at one of its two fire station locations. We can conduct the training at other locations if you can provide a lecture space and class room for video presentation.
During the classroom lecture the students will learn that fire is a combination of oxygen, fuel and heat, called the "Fire Triangle". The discussion will cover the conditions of combustion and the priciples of fire extinguishment by removing one or more side of the fire triangle. The session will cover the classes of fire (A,B,C & D), how to select a fire extinguisher and when a fire extinguisher should be used and how to operate a fire extinguisher using the P.A.S.S. system. The class will conclude with "hands-on" training by each participate using the BullEX Training Simulator to extinguish a live fire on the training prop.
